This portrait experience is a call for women who are turning/in their 40s, 50s, 60s and above to join me in the celebration of life.
I love how women have evolved, embracing their age and going from the era of “women don’t tell their age” to “hey!, I am 45 years of age”.
I used to think 40 was the age for old people, As I get closer to 40 in a few months, I am loving and embracing the woman that I am becoming, looking at life differently now. I am excited about the legacy that I am building. Age is not just about the digits for me anymore, it is more about the impact, the experiences, the amount of time that I have given to share my life with the people that I love.
I have created this portrait experience for women just like me, to give women in their 40s, 50s, 60s and above a space for them to own their light and tell their story to empower and lift the ones coming behind. In all we have lived and loved and it is time to share and show the wisdom that we have gained along the way and to preserve those memories.
Meet the photographer
Emem Akinyemiju
I am the Creative Director of Portraits by Emem, a renowned photography studio in the heart of Lagos. Nigeria. I am widely known for capturing the essence of women, their lifestyle and families. Beyond being a photographer, I am also a mum of 2 children and 2 dogs, a wife to an incredible man. I love my family. I love to love.
For the past 10 years in the business of photography, my purpose in my work has been transformational- helping women to see themselves in order to know and become all they want to be. I love creating timeless images for my client to last a lifetime
The Process
Pre-session consultation
The first and most important part – is getting to know you, to know how and why you want to be photographed. We will have a brief chat on the phone to talk and plan your session.
Portrait Session
Our portrait sessions are carefully designed to be as unique as you are. We take all the stress away by giving you an experience. I will guide you with poses that will fl atter your personality. All you need to do is listen to my voice and in no time, you will become a pro.
Portrait Selection
There would be an in-person selection and ordering session. This could be after your session or a day after, where you will sit in to select images with us from your session at our studio. Your selection will then be processed for the next 10 working days.
Portrait Delivery
After your images are fully processed, your digital images will be shared through a download link with you electronically. This is the “ahhha” moment where you will love and share your images with loved ones to celebrate with you.
SESSION FEE: ₦200,000
This session fee is due at the time of booking to retain the date and time of your photoshoot. Extra Images that are not included in the session fee are purchased separately.
Participants in this series will receive three complementary images that will be displayed in celebration of this project.

Processing time for all sessions are 10 working days for digital images on this project, however, your images could be ready before then.
Absolutely, that’s my favourite part. I will fully guide through poses that suit you. Giving you a stress free experience.
You can bring as many outfits as possible. However, this is a timed session, we must be completed under the allocated time of 2 hours.
It entails your makeup session and photoshoot session.
An additional image come at a cost of ₦45,000 per image. However, the more images you buy, the less you spend.
